Thanks guys for such an amazing wedding to photograph. Meeting people like Mary Claire and Thomas makes my job so much easier, it was a pleasure. Huntington Castle is the most idyllic location for a wedding like this and we were blessed with great weather too! I’m hoping to visit Ireland again soon!
43 degrees heat is hot, even for Las Vegas! It’s a dry heat so actually it’s quite easy to deal with but water and air-conditioning definitely help! Andrea was born and bred in Las Vegas so it was a good idea to capture some of the old neon signs from Las Vegas casinos. I knew Andrea and Kenny were due to move out to Dallas after the wedding so I wanted to photograph as much of Vegas as possible for them. The wedding it self was lovely, beautifully decorated surroundings and lots of fun. Andrea is a wedding photographer in the USA so it was an honour to photograph her most important day!
What could be more fun than a powder paint fight?!? Environmentally friendly powder paint I have to say! Otilia and Adrian wanted their engagement photoshoot taken in a Scots Pine tree forest, if this was anything to go by, photographing their wedding next year should be interesting, looking forward to it!
The lush African forests of Karen, South West Nairobi, provided the most stunning backdrop for John and Katie’s outdoor wedding, where most interestingly, the movie Out of Africa was set. In the picturesque grounds of Katie’s family home, the wedding celebrations took place under a gorgeous marquee, and despite the continual rain in the days beforehand, the skies cleared and we had perfect weather from beginning to end. With tiny twinkling lights beautiful flashes of green and orange throughout, and a scattering of original, personal touches everywhere, this wedding was lovely to photograph.
Karen has some amazing spots for both classic and fun wedding photographs. We discovered clearings between beautifully tall, overhanging trees, gorgeous country roads awash with raw African red soil, and even a fun, quirky Nairobi bus stop! The perfect opportunities for a wedding photographer to capture some memorable shots for the happy couple!
I have many amazing memories photographing this beautiful wedding, from the hearty welcome, to the friendly guests, and of course being able to spend the day capturing special moments for the bride and groom. One memory I would like to erase however is when I came face-to-face with a gecko in my room! They terrify me, fortunately for me though, (but unfortunately for the gecko), it met a sorry and soggy end after being flushed, rather hastily, down the toilet!
