Frequently asked questions

Frequently Asked Questions

1)  How many photographs do you take on the day?

We generally take between 500 to 600 images during the whole day. If your package includes a CD of original images you will receive the best 400 to 500 images.

2)  Do you take any formal photographs?
Yes, we generally like to keep a low profile during the day and so recommend that a small number of family shots are taken.  We welcome any requests so if there are particular shots you have in mind we can carry these out for you.

3)  Do you photograph weddings taking place abroad?
Yes, we cover weddings all over Europe and beyond.

4)  Who will take our photographs?
Hamish will take your photographs but you can request an extra photographer for an additional £250.  An additional photographer is recommended if you are expecting more than 350 guests.

5)  What kind of albums do you produce?
All packages include an album.  Our albums are bespoke so you can choose from a wide variety of options, please see the Albums section for detailed images of each album.

6)  How long do you stay on the day?
You can choose to have your whole day covered from the Bride and groom’s preparations right up until the end of the evening.  We charge by the day, not by the hour, this allows us to capture as many aspects from your wedding day as possible.

7)  Do you cover weddings all year round?
We will cover weddings held during any time of year.

8)  How does a pre/post wedding portrait shoot work?
We meet with you a few months before your wedding and spend 2 hours photographing you in a natural setting together. You can alternatively choose to have your portrait shoot taken a few months after your wedding. This can allow for an interesting shoot, perhaps even wearing your wedding dress again but in more daring locations like on a beach for instance.

9)  Can we meet you before the wedding to discuss our requirements?
It is beneficial for us to meet you for a consultation before the wedding.  This helps us to get to know you and as a result get you looking at your best during your special day.  It is important for you to discuss what type of photographs you really like and we will need details of how you plan the day to unfold.  Ideally we would like to see the venues too but we understand this is not always possible.

10)   How do you deal with low light and bad weather conditions?
We are able to deal with most lighting situations.  We generally prefer to work outdoors with natural light, but we can just as easily work indoors. For winter weddings we have the facility to bring studio lighting if necessary.
